  • Jul. 27th, 2009 at 3:05 PM

Computer RentalRental businesses have stormed the business world today in just a short period of time. Rental is usually done for temporary usage of certain equipment. You can acquire the equipment in rental fee that is much lesser than purchasing your own. It became an important strategy by most companies and individuals to minimize and lessen their expenses. It is becoming more economical to rent the stuff you need these days. Benefits that the rental service can give to the businesses and individuals are unending and are not new to most of us that had chosen to engage in it. Certainly, many had been helped by this system, especially those people who cannot afford to purchase their needed stuff yet.

One of the main reasons why rental service is very advantageous is the way our technologies change so fast. The latest technology today will be outdated tomorrow, depreciation and obsolescence is the main disadvantage one can get when purchasing. Technical obsolescence occur every now and then when new products supersedes the present or the old one. Spending thousands whenever a new product is available in the market is not a smart thing to do.

Renting equipments such as computers is very convenient to some situations which include conventions, shows, temporary moves, and the like. When you have to do conventions and shows it is very advisable to have state-of-the-art-equipments in presenting your ideas and works. High end computer products are obtainable via rent for just a minimal price. If your business doesn’t have a permanent place yet, setting up and purchasing the equipments you need right away is not a good idea. Computer and equipments can also be rented if you have seasonal projects in your company.

Choosing this rental service that we have today is the best money-saving option we can have at this economic time and can be our indispensable tool against recession.

If your business requires particular equipment like a computer , and if such equipment is not that important for the everyday activity of your company then why not consider a rental option. Some companies often find rarely used equipment in the office. It can be considered as just a waste of the company’s money especially if it is an expensive machine. In this sense, rental system is a much more economical option than purchasing new equipment.

When your business is into conventions and shows that only last for few days, then rental system suits your need. You can rent any equipment for the various events in your company. Whether it’s for your company’s regular business activities, for a certain meeting or show, and even for a short duration job site, rental companies of any kind is available, ready to serve you 24/7. Another reason why companies consider renting is that their budget is not yet ready for purchasing such equipment. Purchase prices of such equipments can be very expensive especially for those who have just started to put up their businesses.

Also, some of the companies that already own such equipments still tend to borrow from rental companies especially if their equipment is in need of some repairs. This is done to make sure that the business will continue as usual. Businesses that engage in rental system can have the chance to upgrade their unit from time to time as new technology become available, which is one thing that you can’t do without spending if you purchase. The best thing about renting is that the repair services needed are included whenever a particular machine malfunctions. You can easily avoid the responsibility for the maintenance and repairs of such equipment if your rent them.

The Need to Rent

  • Jun. 30th, 2009 at 8:10 PM
The worldwide recessions have forced plenty of companies to cut back on expenses and capitalize on business ventures that permit them to spend less and save more. In as much, local manpower has been replaced by outsourcing and buying has been overshadowed by rentals amidst the global economic crisis. With time, both have proven to be a more beneficial investment compared to the opposing options. In the line of renting IT equipment, more advantages are available for corporations as compared to purchase. As such, computer solution providers, such as TR Vidcom, have become indispensible allies in the campaign for industrial regrowth.

1.)    Computer equipment rentals afford the use of the best IT equipments right on demand. When needed, computer rental shops can set you up with the latest in modern technology, where you want it. And it will not cost companies as much as buying the device brand new.

2.)     In addition, companies get to choose from a wide array of products and brands, without being that budget constrained. Whether for normal or advanced use, computer rental shops can supply you with a device that fits your requirements.

3.)    Furthermore, with computer equipment rental companies, the alternative of change is viable given the need. If for example a certain computer is not compatible with a software that is to be utilized, renting permits product exchange, so that the unit available is suitable for the task at hand.

4.)    Renting also gives companies the assurance of pc technical support in the event that the equipment breaks down. The warranties from purchased products are only good for 3 months, at least. With renting, you can have technical support any time you desire. And if the unit proves to be defective, a device replacement will be promptly delivered to you.

Knowing AMD Phenom Processors

  • Jun. 29th, 2009 at 5:34 PM
AMD Phenom is a muti-core processor series of Advanced Micro Devices (AMD). It has two varieties, namely X3 with triple processor cores and X4 popularly known as quad-core processors. These two Phenom varieties both share AMD64 technology and Direct Connect Architecture. AMD64 is 64-bit technology compatibility which can maximize memory allocation of up to 256 terabytes, breaking the 4-gigabyte limit of 32-bit processors. Direct Connect Technology makes processor get direct link on other computer parts like memory, Input/Output subsystem, and other core processors using high bandwidth Hypertransport™ links. It has an integrated memory controller and share L3 cache for a quick response and reduced latency on system performance. Direct access to DDR2 memory also supplies sufficient virtual memory on running multi-thread applications and multi-taking capability. HyperTransport™ 3.0 Technology can also support 1080p definition video and greatest system bandwidth for faster editing of videos and images using high-end media applications.

AMD Phenom processors, both X3 and X4, also have built-in AMD PowerNow!™ and AMD Cool’n’Quiet™ Technology that saps down heat and noise of the computer unit while running. These enhancements greatly save power consumption while optimizing the overall performance of the computer system. It automatically turns off inactive parts of the processor without any BIOS or driver configuration. Most of all, turning the power on and off will only take a single clock cycle without affecting its performance.

Top 5 Software Reasons of a Slow PC

  • Jun. 26th, 2009 at 7:25 PM
When hardware components are working perfectly yet PC performance is still slow, it might be the time to check software issues. Although not as expensive as resolving hardware issues, software-related problems can be experienced day to day. The following are key areas related to software problems that should be checked in case you PC is starting to slow down:

1.    Several TSR Software Installed Programs. When installing a program, some TSR (Terminate and Stay Resident)        drivers will be attached to the windows file system. It will be placed generally on the quicklaunch toolbar so that it can        be easily recalled and will be started up with Windows during boot up time. Having so much of them will obviously        slow down computer operations. Check the Task Manager (CTRL+ALT+DEL) to view running programs and remove        unnecessary TSR programs.

2.    Corrupt Data and Fragmented Hard disk. Corrupt data can complicate some running software and confuse the        logical flow of operation. There are also third party softwares that  check corrupt data and essentially remove them for        smooth operation. When you also frequently load and delete data in your hard disk, it will eventually become               fragmented. Run “defrag software” at least once a moth to avoid fragmented space build-up.

3.    Conflicting Software and Device Drivers. Two software programs can also be conflicting and will slow your PC        down. Examples of these are multi-threads softwares like anti-virus programs. Since two of them are designed for        similar unctions, chances are they would be competing for the same computer resources. Some device drivers are        also incompatible and a different kind of driver version might be necessary to compensate the much important driver.        The Device Manager can also indicate conflicting drivers.

4.    Junk Files and Software Residues. When uninstalling software programs, not all files will be removed from your        PC.Some of their residues like temporary files and back-up files remain in the computer untouched. When they are        accumulated, they will eventually become junk files (files never used more than a month ago) and affect the speed of        your PC. Remove these files once a month to resolve the problem.

5.    Viruses, Malwares, Worms, Spywares and Trojans. Some of these kinds of software are on stealth mode where        you can’t see that they are running and consuming much of your computer memory. They can also replicate instantly        and occupy most of your hard disk space. Having an effective all-around security suite might solve this problem.

  • Jun. 24th, 2009 at 7:48 PM
Need Audio Visual Equipment but doesn’t have the funds to acquire it?

You have an event and your company doesn’t have any audio visual equipment to use. Then, you came across an AV for rent online and were satisfied with the equipment. You have all the right to use the product within the agreed length of time. You also get to choose from a wide variety of brand and with the complete package.

Leasing terms and conditions.

The lessee could give you the contractual purchase option price or the bargain purchase option. Based on a consumer lease subject from the federal consumer leasing act and the truth in lending act, the purchase option price cannot be a bargain purchase. Thus, it should not be less than the original estimated fair market value. A bargain purchase is like installment sale, where the Truth in Lending Act (TILA) applies including the standardized disclosures and the Annual Percentage Rate (APR).

Leasing the Audio Visual Equipment vs. Purchasing It

How much would a complete set of audio visual equipment cost these days? Generally, companies would opt to lease depreciating machines and equipment. Audio Visual Equipment is one of them. From the Widescreen Monitor or projector to the surround system, including lapels for speakers that would fit any events, conventions and etc.; Audio Visual Leasing is the best option since you’re not required to use the equipment throughout the year. Audio Visual equipment is also best for parties, gigs, trade fair showrooms, conference and other big events.

It would be video games, computer, laptop, plasma TV, and so much more. Those are some of the examples of the latest technological invention which are we using almost everyday. The mere reality is not all humans can afford to buy brand new equipments. Because of poor credit or maybe they have other important things to settle before buying a brand new equipments.

As you’ve noticed latest equipments will only stay in the store for almost three months. After that, there will be other equipment that is more advanced and classy. A Drift from 32-Bit to 64-Bit Computing

  • Jun. 12th, 2009 at 8:42 PM
What is the difference between 32-bit and 64-bit computers? As geeks would tell you that each bit can process binary operation ( 0 or 1 ) per clock cycle of a computer processor. Regardless of what processor, 64-bit computer system can only mathematically mean it has more or less twice the processing speed of a 32-bit computer. A shift towards 64-bit computing, however, can’t just be done overnight despite the tremendous advantage it could offer to hardware and software industries.

64-bit computers are equipped with 64-bit processors and compatible motherboard and other computer hardwares. Although 64-bit computers can run on both 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems (OS), it can also process most of 32-bit designed programs and even some of 16-bit programs. Only isolated cases of program incompatibility is being reported. This means 32-bit systems, the typical system being used today, can become a subset of 64-bit system. You don’t need to worry if your frequently used programs won’t run should you go for a 64-bit computer.

The problem is the conversion – you cannot possibly run 64-bit programs with 32-bit computers. If new updates of your favorite softwares are designed to be 64-bit, you cannot enjoy the features of such updates. And since majority of today’s computer systems are running on 32-bit, hardware and software manufacturers cannot just possibly mass-produce 64-bit stuffs when most demands are raised by 32-bit system users. But as more high-end softwares will be developed like CAD, a drift towards 64-bit computing will become faster. Softwares that require much higher computer specifications can steadfastly carry on the shift towards 64-bit computing.

Laptop Rental

  • Jun. 11th, 2009 at 9:09 PM
One of the most practical and handy IT equipment of today is the laptop. Its smaller structure provides the convenience that our personal computer’s bulky nature cannot—it can be brought anywhere we go without too much hassle. Because of this, laptops are easily becoming the most in demand technological products of today. The market is continually introducing the most mouthwatering models, the sleek, the shiny, and the techy ones. However, as much as everyone wants to have it, many among us are stumped by the lack of funds.

To satisfy the demands, a lot of companies are now introducing rental services on these most sought after devices. Yes, that’s right - rental service. It’s the best way to get a laptop. Curious? Well, hear me out then.
First and most important: It’s less expensive. Lots of companies are offering great models for the lowest prices. It cuts much of the bucks needed to purchase one. That makes it easier for us who have no Platinum credit cards to be able to get our hands on these little babies. Easy solution for the dough problem!

Next: You don’t get left behind by the newer technology. Let’s face it - the newest model you bought today would be prehistoric after a few months or years. But since you bought the humble gadget, it would seem to be a waste to prepare it for the museum after such a period of time. And the newer models would just continue to be more and more striking, yours would look like a piece of junk compared to them. So, instead of facing such a situation, renting would be a great option to take. Many companies offer short and long term rental services. You can choose either which would suit you.

Lastly: It provides a good trial period. If you really want to have one for your own, you would want something that fits your needs and wants, right? So, what other best way is there than to try it out first? Most companies do not offer trial period for these gadgets. That’s why there are cases where costumers complain after being unsatisfied by what they bought. That’s where rental services come in. You can rent the one you are eyeing on for a short period of time and see if it fits you. If it does, then go ahead and make the purchase. If not, at least you could return it afterwards.

So having these advantages, renting that cool laptop would easily be a great idea.

How to Lower Computer Power Consumption

  • Jun. 9th, 2009 at 8:19 PM
Studies show that an average computer user spends 8 to 9.5 hours a day sitting in front of the computer. However, only 70% of the total time spent on computer is properly utilized and the remaining 30% states that the computer is left idle. For desktops computers an average of 60-500 watts per hour is used. Laptops on the other hand, utilize 15-60 watts hourly rate of energy. It does not sound a lot. But when accumulated, it poses a real headache. To fully grasp the weight of the scenario, let us assume that a typical user spends 8 hours daily at an average of 120 watts per hour and the cost per kilowatt hour rate is 13 cents. For a year, your electric bill would reach to an estimated amount of $46, while paying almost $14 dollars of your money to wasted energy. To prevent this from happening, below are some helpful tips that you would find useful on reducing your computer power consumption.

Utilize the power options in your computer. Most computer users ignore the importance of this feature. By enabling the sleep mode or hibernation mode you practically lower the power consumption of your computer. The sleep or standby mode shuts down its monitor, processor and disks while it waits for any keyboard activity. Once a key is touched it instantly wakes up the whole system and resumes with its task. This is strongly applicable for short breaks. Hibernation on the other hand, is power mode preferably used for longer inactivity time. It saves the current state of the memory to a disk. It takes a minute or two for the computer to enter into the hibernation mode and takes just as long to wake it up. It is advisable to configure the power options using this pattern: turn off the monitor after 5-10 minutes, turn off hard disks after 20 minutes, enter standby after 30 minutes, and hibernate after 45 minutes.

Lower the Screen Brightness. Put your screen brightness to a minimum. Basically, the lower the display brightness the higher is your power savings.

Opt for LCD monitors over CRT. CRT monitor uses almost twice as much energy compared to LCD monitor. Specifically, CRTs would draw power in the range of 60-135 watts depending on the screen size. While LCD monitors would use approximately 15-35 watts.

Disable your Screensavers. Selecting a blank screensaver reduces energy consumption. In the past, it may be true that screen savers protect monitors from being damage but today doing so would only increase your power meter.

Turn off when not in use. A lot of computer users still think that turning off a computer promotes hardware problems. This practice actually lengthens computer and monitor life span. Aside from that, it also saves a lot of money due to less power usage.

Choosing the right RAM for your Computer

Want to upgrade your RAM, but doesn’t know what to consider in buying or purchasing a new one? Trouble no more because I have enlisted below specific guidelines that would help you choose the right one for your system.

Check your computer’s manual. Getting oriented with your computer’s specifications does not only give you the idea of what kind of RAM to purchase but also ensures you that it would run on your computer when successfully installed. Also, try visiting the manufacturer’s website, surely there are online resources that would familiarize you with your system’s specifications.

Identify the maximum module size your motherboard can support. This would ensure that your “mobo” could accommodate your desired RAM upgrade.

Check what type of RAM is suitable. Basically there are four types of RAM namely: (a) DRAM, (b) SDRAM, (c) DDR SDRAM and (d) RDRAM. Older types of desktops use SDRAM. On the other hand, DDR SDRAM is relatively faster than SDRAM. It is most often used in Pentium 3 and Pentium 4 processors.

Identify the connector type used in your system. There are three types of module types specifically: SIMM, DIMM, and RIMM. An SDRAM RIMM would not fit on an SIMM or DIMM type of module. So be careful in choosing the connector type of your desired RAM. Following proper pin configuration type should always be observed.

Buy the correct speed for your “mobo”. Check your computer manual to see which type of RAM speed your motherboard will be able to support. For example, your motherboard’s specs supports only 133 MHz SDRAM, then purchase only a PC133 SDRAM. Take note that when combining two types of RAM with different speeds, the RAM normally operates using the slower type of RAM.

Choose the Right Amount of RAM. In running basic applications such as Word processing and general gaming, a 128 MB of RAM is enough. Picture editing and colored photo scanning would usually need 128MB to 256 MB of RAM. In multimedia applications, a minimum of 256 MB is required. For other specific applications, check out the system requirements of the software.
